Vegetables help stop acute pancreatitis? Imagine that! The medical community is catching up, learning things I have known for YEARS! They have finally figured out that vegetables are good for helping to control, even stop acute pancreatitis. They don’t know why, which doesn’t surprise me, but at least they have found out something that is true. You can read all about the study, published in original form, in the journal Gut on June 28, 2012. I quote:
“every two additional servings per day were associated with 17% risk reduction …
Conclusions Vegetable consumption, but not fruit consumption, may play a role in the prevention of non-gallstone-related acute pancreatitis.” Read hereI do have to state that I disagree about fruit consumption not being of value. I would guess they haven’t read any of the research that has already been done regarding fruit extracts such as grapefruit seed extract and grape seed extract both of which come from fruits.
In 2009 they discovered antioxidants (15 years later than me) help pancreatitis pain. True to medical community form all but one (vit c as ascorbic acid) of the antioxidants used in the study are toxic at high doses. Read about the complete orginal study here. I’m glad they are trying to learn yet I know certain antioxidants go even farther by helping to actually stop acute pancreatitis attacks and heal pancreas damage. The antioxidants I use are NON-toxic, even at high doses. You should learn about them, embrace them and more importantly USE them!

Vegetables – Key Anti-Inflammatory Foods
Both acute and chronic pancreatitis are characterized by inflammation of the pancreas. Vegetables are anti-inflammatory. They are full of anti-inflammatory phenol flavonoids. The more vegetables you eat the more your pancreas is gonna love you.
Vegetables and or a vegan type diet is essential for healing your pancreas. I’ve been telling people for the last several years to change from their normal fat filled, meat filled diets to vegetables. Especially during the first 6 months to a year after an acute pancreatitis attack. Then …
Once the pancreas is healed and you are symptom free with no abdominal tenderness you can begin to add white meat fish such as cod, rock fish, bass, perch, catfish, talapia, sole, other sea food (shrimp, scallops, clams, lobster) along with some skinless poultry using the food diary protocol.
Juicing Is a Great Way To Bathe Your Pancreas In Vegetables
Juicing is a powerful way to consume tons of polyphenol flavonoids which will protect your pancreas and other organs from disease while also helping heal any condition you may already have that is associated with inflammation. Pancreatitis (any condition that ends in “itis” is an inflammation), cancer, heart disease and more may all be prevented even reversed via a large daily dose of polyphenol flavoinoids [3], [4].
