The Beating Pancreatitis Support Group
The beating pancreatitis support group is about support, fellowship and learning how to heal for those who suffer with pancreatitis; acute, recurring acute, and/or chronic pancreatitis.
If you suffer with pancreatitis this group could be your new lifeline of friends. It could also be your path to healing and living a fairly normal, pain-free life 🙂
My website Beating Pancreatitis will give you all the knowledge you need to begin healing and God willing living a life without pain and agony.
BUT BUT WHY Should you even listen to me or those who practice what I preach? BECAUSE …
I had SEVERE pain, a ton of recurrent acute attacks that I have found out most likely resulted from Celiac Disease which I also am lucky enough to have as well. BUT after 3 years of horrible pain and agony I learned how to live PAIN-FREE.
Many who follow what I do find relief (at least) even healing and some go on to be pain free as well.
The GOOD NEWS is this some of you will learn to live pain free.
Because it takes a lifestyle change.
A complete “about face.”
And most people are not willing to do that.
I’ve seen people (including one doctor) post in other support groups that they were looking forward to having their pancreas removed so they could continue eating high fat foods (beef, pork, lamb, duck, cakes, pies, cookies etc etc etc). IF that is you, feel free to hang out, but MY personal info probably won’t help you. IF you are severely damaged you may also not totally heal. I’m sorry nothing works 100% of the time.
I have been diagnosed (1979) with acute and chronic pancreatitis, told I had maybe 10 years left to enjoy life on earth, suffered for 3 years in horrible pain often coupled with severe nausea, which I hate more than the pain which can not be understood unless you have personally experienced it.
If you are a caregiver, friend or family member joining to help your loved one yet have never experienced the agony let me just say this:
I have some Marine Corps brothers and some Army friends who have been shot and have mentioned they would prefer being shot versus having another acute pancreatitis attack. I have had mothers say they would rather give birth to quintuplets rather than experience acute pancreatitis.
Here is a famous pancreas doctor who talks about the pain of pancreatitis:
“…inflammation of the pancreas causes some of the most severe pain that people have ever imagined.”
— Dr. David C. Whitcomb
(first minute or so of vid).
The REAL GOOD News is HOPE!
The hope of obtaining a pain free life. Of living almost normal. Maybe a “new normal” but one that resembles decent health and long life. So NEVER GIVE UP! Your breakthrough may be just about to spring forth!
I preach a no fat, low fat diet free of most animal products that I found, through tedious trial and error, cause illness in me. Now, I know, there are those that will say what I do doesn’t work for everyone and that is absolutely true BECAUSE …
Some people will have had much more damage than me. Their pancreas may be so destroyed either from the pancreatic enzymes eating it or surgeons slicing it up and chucking it in a garbage bin.
These folks have a bigger challenge than I have had to overcome.
Some people have other conditions that also cause huge challenges on top of pancreatitis. Conditions such as sphincter of oddi dysfunction, pancreas divisum, insulin dependent diabetes type 1 or type 3 (due to pancreas damage), or some autoimmune disease that ravages the pancreas.
They may have had an organ transplant that requires them to take daily immunosuppressants that have been clearly proven to cause acute pancreatitis or have some other condition such as HBP or HF that requires the use of Thiazide or furosemide diuretics and/or ace inhibitors both of which have been proven to cause acute pancreatitis.
These situations, involving several conditions, some of which actually cause acute pancreatitis from the disease itself or drugs used to combat it, provide an extreme challenge in themselves, BECAUSE, the actions of even a highly anti-inflammatory cocktail like Ibuprofen, grape seed extract, curcumin and vitamin C, taken in combination, are thwarted or the effect diminished due to the constant reintroduction of inflammatory agents.
That is WHY it is so important to KNOW what caused your original attack of acute pancreatitis or the insidious presentation of chronic pancreatitis without AP damage as is seen in cases involving genetic variants (hereditary, alcoholic, autoimmune pancreatitis). Once you know you can rectify the problem cause in many cases. Anyway …
I preach diet and supplements. Anti-inflammatory cocktails (Ibuprofen with supplements) and I don’t care where you get your supplements just get them. And follow the diet with preparation first which includes fasting and then cleansing. Then keeping a food diary/journal on everything that goes into your mouth (one food at a time). You can find all this info and more about beating pancreatitis on my site.
I would have preferred that you had never been sick, never ill, never sustained damage to your pancreas but now, since it has happened. Let’s see if we, YOU, can get well.
Modern medicine does NOT want you well.
They don’t want you dead either.
Either well or dead you are of no value.
But ill pays their bills.
If there were no cancer, heart disease, diabetes or other cash cow diseases they’d be hard pressed to live luxurious lifestyles. The interesting thing is this: They get paid whether you live or die and pancreas surgical procedures are notoriously expensive, with some commanding prices high enough to buy a Rolls Royce or a nice home. So think, do research, think before you leap because often you will not be able to get back on the plane when you jump. Oh and …
I AM NOT A DOCTOR! I CAN NOT DIAGNOSE, PRESCRIBE TREATMENT OR CLAIM TO CURE ANY ILLNESS OR DISEASE AND I DO NOT MAKE ANY SUCH CLAIMS NOR DO I CLAIM TO HAVE THE ANSWERS. NOBODY ELSE DOES EITHER. SO …
IF YOU DO ANYTHING YOU READ ABOUT OR HEAR IN THIS SUPPORT GROUP BY ME OR ANYONE ELSE _ YOU DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK!
GOD BLESS YOU.
CARRY ON! 🙂
