March 16th , 2015 Hi, could you tell me where I might find more information on Creon ? I believe it perhaps is making me feel more ill. I feel like I’m in a bad circle with my doctors… Any help would I be deeply grateful for. Thank you , GOD bless, Sarah
Hi Sarah 🙂 Check my facebook page and look for the response to the message you sent me. I should probably do a post on creon but until then I answered you via facebook.
Hi, my name is becky, I’m 32 and have always had issues with my stomach from being a baby. I was diagnosed with IBS at the age of 12 stomach ulcers at 14 and had my first attack of pancreatitis at 17. I had my three children between the ages of 24 and 28. During my second pregnancy my pancreatitis flared up and my son had to be induced at 38 weeks as I was suffering and losing weight. My third pregnancy meant I was in hospital on a weekly basis from my first trimester and had to be induced at 35 weeks as I was unable to eat and was having morphine for the pain. My son was born and the symptoms eased and I was pain free for around 18 months. I have been t~total since I was 21 and have tried to stick to a low fat high fibre diet. I was diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis at 29 after another attack. I had an MRI scan in 2013 which showed a massive calcification growing horizontally through my pancreas which was blocking the pancreatic duct. My specialist is saying I need to have an operation to drill a hole through the calcification to allow the pancreatic fluid to get out. However, I would have to be in hospital for up to 6 weeks and with having three young children, one of them autistic and only my husband working we are unable at present to go ahead, we are hoping to save up enough money to have the op in January 2016 as my mum would also be able to help out then. I am currently suffering another bout and this is worst than the last I am unable to keep anything down but water. I am considering your juice diet and the supplements. But I noticed you said once you have the Calcifications your stuck with them. And diet etc would not help. Is there any advice you can give me? I am taking omiprozole, OxyContin amytriptoline as well as anti sickness tablets and oramorph daily which I really don’t want to take.
Hi Becky 🙂 sorry to hear you are not doing well. I shouldn’t have said that calcification means nothing will help because I don’t know. I actually believe (1) that all things are possible with God, (2) that I don’t know everything in fact I don’t know much at all and (3) a proper pancreatitis diet certainly can’t hurt.
Calcification certainly presents more challenges and your situation sounds particularily challenging since the calcification is blocking your pancreatic duct. In your case the surgical procedure may be your best shot. I had a thought one day and wrote a post. The thought may have no merit at all, yet who knows? EDTA For Calcification?
Thanks for your reply, I read the link however, it’s something ive never heard of, I will ask my consultant when I see him this month, I have a really unusual condition and am seen as a guinea pig at the moment with everyone wanting to cut me open for a proper look, even though it’s the last thing I want. I’d just like to let you know I have been taking all the supplements and drinking juice made mainly from peas kale and grapefruit juice and it is staying down it tastes awful but my energy has massively improved and I have been pain free for 56 hours and counting ha ha, I intend to start adding more fruits and veggies abdomen am off my meds. Thanks so much for all the info, I may not be cured but for the first time in 6 month I feel semi human again xxxx
You are welcome Becky! And what great news! I’ll pray that you continue to improve. That is awesome! Your situation is challenging and the idea about edta is a “shot in the dark guess” with absolutely no science , that I can find, to back up my thought and if it did work I am guessing that magnesium edta instead of calcium edta would work better but I don’t know that either. It is simply a guess too but calcium edta is already bound to calcium and so may not extract calcium as readily as edta bound to another ion such as magnesium. You also mentioned a “massive” calcification so if it is really thick it would take a lot of edta infusions to see any merit if any at all. So, like I said previously, in your case, the surgical procedure may be the fastest, most effective fix, yet I imagine there is some real risk as well. Tough call. IF it were me I’d be asking God to show me what I should do. He always knows what is best for us, always. Keep us informed and God bless you 🙂
