The Beating Pancreatitis Forum Is GONE!

54683819Yes the beating pancreatitis forum is gone, history, no longer in use.

Set up a forum they said.

It’ll be fun they said.

And I thought it would be a great idea, give people a place to chat, ask each other questions, friend each other, message each other and more.

There were almost a thousand registrations but only about 5% activated their accounts and even less (a handful) actually participated on the forum. Like I said I thought it would be fun BUT …

For some reason people were having issues with it.

They were having difficulty:

  1. activating their accounts
  2. logging in

I thought it was pretty simple but I was wrong. PLus …

For no reason:

  1. the registration form disappeared twice
  2. the log in form disappeared several times
  3. weird stuff was happening

poofSo until I can find a viable, working solution the forum is dead.

Kapoot.

Poof!

I tried twice and wasted people’s time twice.

I’ve been told that the third time is the charm and I usually don’t give up but being technically challenged I’m stumped as to the WHY things simply did NOT work right.

I may give it a shot again down the road but I think I’ll do a subdomain and give the forum it’s own site. That in itself may resolve some issues. Anyway …

I apologize for any inconvenience.

  1. Say it isn’t so! After 3 plus years of suffering this blog was a gem in the rough. I had barely started reading and was writting notes for a long post to share. Third time is a charm…dont give up! Fight on my friend!

  2. You could always find a member of the “community” (is there one?) more technologically savvy to help you set up the board software. Just a thought.

  3. Please don’t give up. I found your information to be educational and informative. I had a long winded question not to long ago and it did disappear…I think it was my error. My son just left the hospital after Five months suffering from acute necrotizing pancreatitis, multiple organ failure and sepsis. We are now being too he probably has less than a year to live. I have been telling him to read your blogs and trying out your methods to help recover. He seems to have given up on life, and I was hoping when the pain got bad enough he might finally go to your forum/ website….He is only 25….good luck on getting rolling again. How can I access any of your stuff? Its all so very sad and it’s hard to find useful information on diet etc. The hospital said low fat or regular diet.

    1. Hi Rebecca – this site isn’t going anywhere, just the forum is gone. It sounds like your son was definitely very ill and probably still is. He has to WANT to heal and live. Let me know what I can do to help and IF I can (within reason) I will. You asked: “How can I access any of your stuff?” It’s all here on this site.

  4. Hello HG : don’t. worry we will keep you busy anyway, I tried to log on the Forum and I was having trouble doing it, I finally did days later…. I call the situation a “Monopoly, also as is Red Tape is usual ,others sites that shouldn’t be on ,still existing (you know what I meant)……we enjoy chatting with you, and all the help you give to all of us ,is enough to not continue doing it at the way it was before…Maria

  5. We are all pancreatic survivors… we don’t quit!! We just find another solution that works for us.
It will happen Paul, I believe in you! 😉

  6. Okay, I think I ‘get it’ now. What I thought were ‘older Threads’ are actually Threads over in an area that we can only “view’ now. What confused me is that there are still ‘reply’ spots that open, but then, when I wrote in them, wouldn’t actually post the message. Health Guy, should I be trying to find a way to “save” that entire previous site? Or do you think you will be able to keep it “up” and viewable? I will be needing those answers you gave.

  7. O no I just found you. I am cell phone challenged so I have a problem doing what I want to. Please try to do it again or establish a place where we can talk to you. Good luck to us, we need
